Many parents blamed themselves, or their kids, for the hours lost to the feed. But legal claims allege social media companies built in psychological triggers on purpose: intermittent rewards, endless scrolling, toxic social comparison, and recommendation engines that pull kids into content rabbit holes.
Now families are filing legal claims against platforms like Instagram and TikTok.
You may be eligible if:

Ruston’s Newest Traffic-Camera Perk Is Surprisingly Sweet

Coles Bar & Grill in Ruston is offering free dessert to customers who show a citation from one of the city’s speed cameras. The promotion is limited to Ruston-issued tickets, with options including a root beer float, brownie sundae or deep-fried Oreo.

A Tacoma Walk Will Retrace—and Reverse—the Chinese Expulsion of 1885

Tacoma’s Walk for Reconciliation Against Racism returns Saturday, Oct. 24, with an opening ceremony at the Washington State History Museum, a downtown walk and a closing gathering at Chinese Reconciliation Park. The free event retraces—and reverses—the route taken during Tacoma’s 1885 expulsion of its Chinese residents.
The walk starts by 10:45 a.m. near Union Station, led by Mak Fai lion dancers. Organizers have also arranged shuttle service for people who can’t walk the route. The event program includes speakers, a Taiko performance and complimentary hot food at the park.
