A new smoothie shop is planned for Tacoma’s Eastside, where Fantastic Smoothies aims to open at 5431 Pacific Ave. in spring 2027. The owners envision a menu that goes beyond fruit drinks, with coffee and breakfast items also in the mix.
Tacoma natives Anthony Smith and Adrian Broussard say their interest in smoothies grew from home: their mother made fresh fruit smoothies, and they grew up eating healthfully. The shop’s name also has a local connection, inspired by Fantastic Burger on South Sprague Avenue, which later became Legendz.
The planned smoothie menu includes strawberry-banana, mango-pineapple, peanut-butter-and-banana and piña-colada flavors, along with green smoothies and a make-your-own option. The owners are also planning lattes and espresso, plus food such as croissant breakfast sandwiches, lunch sandwiches and egg bites.
A permit filed with the City of Tacoma earlier this month estimates renovation costs at $48,000. Prices and hours haven’t been set yet, given the long lead time before the planned opening.
