Halloween lands on a Saturday this year, and Tacoma has enough going on to fill considerably more than one evening. The News Tribune has assembled a citywide guide covering family outings, costume contests and celebrations aimed at the grown-ups.
One option comes with superheroes, monsters and a milestone. Stargazer Comics will celebrate its 10th anniversary with a Halloween Bash from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday at 2610 Sixth Ave. The shop plans to offer candy, free comics, raffle prizes, special merchandise and a costume contest that visitors can enter simply by arriving dressed for the occasion.
Later that afternoon, Antique Row will host Downtown Tacoma Trick-or-Treat from 3 to 5 p.m. Participating businesses will hand out candy while a DJ supplies the soundtrack. A pet costume contest begins outside Café Bostwick at 3:30 p.m., with prizes planned for the best overall costume and the best pet-and-human combination.
Those are only two possibilities in a much larger weekend lineup. The News Tribune’s guide includes additional choices for families, dog owners and adults looking for a Halloween night out. Read the complete roundup to find the celebration that fits your plans here.
