After Years of Waiting, Tacoma’s Old City Hall Is Coming Back to Life

Tacoma's Old City Hall - Tacoma Local Minute

Preliminary results had initially pointed to avian psittacosis, but further laboratory work produced a different and considerably less common finding.

Officials say no additional infected birds have been discovered, August environmental samples were negative and no associated human illnesses have been reported. The zoo and Point Defiance Park remain open, although the puffin habitat will stay closed while investigators search for the source of the bacteria and continue monitoring the surviving colony.
