Tacoma is getting a colorful dose of fall just as the weather starts turning gray.
The Autumn Flower Show returns to the W.W. Seymour Conservatory in Wright Park beginning Wednesday, October 7, filling the historic glass conservatory with seasonal plants and fall color through November 29.
This year’s display will feature sunflowers, exhibition and garden chrysanthemums, ornamental peppers, coleus and other seasonal plants grown by the Parks Tacoma Greenhouse team. Parks Tacoma describes the show as a celebration of autumn’s colors, textures and quieter beauty.
The show offers an easy indoor stop for anyone looking for something seasonal to do without committing to a big event. And because the conservatory sits right in Wright Park, visitors can pair the flower show with a walk through one of Tacoma’s best-known urban parks.
The conservatory is located at 316 S. G St. During the October-to-March season, it is generally open Wednesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission is free, with a $3 suggested donation.
The Autumn Flower Show runs through Sunday, November 29, giving Tacoma residents nearly two months to catch the display before the conservatory transitions into its holiday season programming in December.
