Cityscape Games - Tacoma Local Minute

Cityscape Games is building an escape room around a mysterious storage unit, a half-finished toy workshop and the small, unseen workers who may have once made it all run. The game, called Elf Storage, is listed as “coming soon” at the company’s new downtown Tacoma location.

Players will take on the role of a storage facility’s new manager and investigate Unit #253, whose renter has paid the bills for years without ever being seen. Inside, they’ll find tools, unfinished toys and clues about the unusual former workers. Cityscape describes the experience as a 75-minute game for groups of two to eight.

The room is part of Cityscape’s larger plan for six Tacoma-themed escape rooms under one roof. The company moved to 955 Tacoma Ave. S. in May, after operating in South Tacoma. Its existing games draw on local settings, including a Tacoma Dome rock show and a zoo training scenario.

But finishing Elf Storage has become a challenge. The Weekly Volcano reports that owner Daniel Dror has run out of construction money after a few slow months and hopes to open the game before the end of 2026. The company’s website is accepting donations and says visitors can also support the project by purchasing a gift card.

There’s a personal thread behind the toy factory, too: the Volcano reports that the story’s artists, who never got the support they needed, resonate with Dror. For the funding details and the ways Cityscape says people can help, read the Weekly Volcano’s report here.
