acoma Book Fair - Tacoma Local Minute

Tacoma Book Fair is adding a night of crime fiction before its main festival weekend. “An Evening of Mystery with J.A. Jance” is scheduled for Nov. 7 at the Point Defiance Pagoda, with a panel of mystery writers leading into a conversation with Jance.

The evening begins with “The Joy of Crime,” a panel featuring Jeff Ayers, Glen Erik Hamilton and K.B. Jackson. They’ll talk about what draws them to crime fiction, the writers who influenced them and the craft of building a mystery or thriller.

Jance, a New York Times bestselling author, is known for the J.P. Beaumont, Joanna Brady and Ali Reynolds series. Her program includes an author conversation and audience Q&A, followed by a book signing. The Tacoma Book Fair says light refreshments and drinks are also part of the evening.

The event is listed at the Point Defiance Pagoda, 5801 Trolley Lane. It offers a chance to hear how crime writers approach the genre—and put questions to one of its best-known authors. The main Tacoma Book Fair weekend is listed for Nov. 14–15.
