The former Hilltop A Go-Go space on Martin Luther King Jr. Way is planned to become Juke Garden, a Black-owned lounge and event space built around music, karaoke and community nights. Owner Andrew Green told WhatNow Seattle he is targeting a November 7 soft opening. Juke Garden’s own website lists November 2026 but does not confirm a specific opening date, so that target could change.
The plans for 1016 Martin Luther King Jr. Way include lounge seating, a dance floor, a DJ platform and a private karaoke room. Fridays are planned for karaoke, while Sundays are set aside for free community nights with music and games on the TVs.
Saturdays have a different draw: DJs and artists can book a session that includes a produced recording of their set. The Juke Garden team says it grew out of Clubless Collective, which has hosted events around Tacoma and Seattle. The new venue gives that event experience a permanent Hilltop home.
The business also plans to offer cocktails and zero-proof drinks, along with private bookings. Groups can reserve the full space Monday through Wednesday, while the VIP karaoke room is available for private gatherings any night. The venue is intended for guests 21 and older.
WhatNow Seattle reported on the planned opening and Green’s soft-opening target; Juke Garden’s website has more on the venue’s weekly plans and rentals. Read the WhatNow Seattle story here.
