Grit City Comic Show - Tacoma Local Minute

A full day of comics, creators and cosplay is coming to downtown Tacoma. Grit City Comic Show returns Saturday, Nov. 7, at the Greater Tacoma Convention Center, with comic books and the people who make them at the center of the event.

This year’s guest lineup includes award-winning fantasy author Robin Hobb, cartoonist and animator Michel Gagné, voice actress Melanie Kohn, and comic creators Scott Kolins, Matthew Clark, Bob Smith and others. Guests may offer signings, sketches or commissions, with availability and prices varying by creator.

The convention also plans vendor booths, cosplay, a LEGO display from the Seattle LEGO Users Group, and tabletop gaming. The gaming area includes options such as Pathfinder and Starfinder sessions, board games and Blood on the Clocktower, with activities for newcomers as well as experienced players.

The show runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Advance tickets are $10, tickets at the door are $15, and children 12 and younger get in free with an adult ticket. The guest list brings together comics, animation, fantasy writing and more—so the day may have something for Tacoma fans whose favorite stories don’t all come from the same universe.
